ATP Coach · Natural Tennis

There's no right way to play tennis. There's only your way.

Your best tennis already exists. It turns up in practice, then goes missing the moment the score matters. Closing that gap starts with a game shaped around your body, not someone else's.

Sound familiar?

More lessons. More hours. The same result.

You practise more than the players who beat you. On the warm-up court your forehand is clean, your timing is there, and for a few games it even holds. Then the score gets close. Your arm tightens, your feet go quiet, and the ball you've hit ten thousand times sails long.

You lose to someone you'd beat nine times out of ten in practice. You replay the points the whole drive home, knowing you're better than that. Underneath sits the question you don't say out loud: maybe this is just my level.

So you do what you've always done. Train harder, book another lesson, copy another pro's technique off YouTube. For a week it feels different. Then you notice you're still on the same plateau, and the next match goes the way they all go.

It isn't your effort. And it almost certainly isn't your talent. It's that you've been handed a game that was never built for you.

The game has to fit the player. Never the other way round.

Grass-court season, on tour.

What I believe

Your body already knows how it wants to move.

For years you've been handed the same model. Hold the racquet like this. Follow through like that. Copy the players you watch on TV. But your body isn't their body. Forcing their technique is why your game feels mechanical, and why it falls apart the moment the pressure is real.

We are all different, so the work is to help you find your difference. Not to impose a technique, but to explore what your body does naturally and then build efficient, repeatable shots around it. When the movement fits you, it stops costing you anything to produce, and that's when it survives a tight scoreline.

Then you train the two things that actually decide matches: staying relaxed under pressure, and a plan clear enough to trust when the score is 4-4.

That's Ready2Perform. No forcing. No copying. Your most natural, most effective tennis.

How I coach

Three things, worked on together.

Ready2Perform is online coaching that builds your game around the way your own body moves. That work splits into three.

Move

Technique that fits you

Find how your own body is wired to move, then build your shots around that instead of around a model you saw on television.

Settle

Calm under pressure

Relaxation and breathing trained deliberately, so the calm is actually there when the score is tight, rather than disappearing exactly when you need it.

See clearly

A plan you can trust

Confidence built on what you control, so you stop second-guessing and know what to do on the few points that decide the match.

How to start

Three steps. No pressure.

Step 1

Read the book

Get Your Natural Tennis free. It takes about half an hour and it lays out the whole approach, so you can decide whether it makes sense to you before anything else happens.

Step 2

Try it on court

Take one idea to your next session. Not a whole new technique, one idea. See what your body does with it, because that answer is more useful than any opinion.

Step 3

Talk when you're ready

If you want help applying it to your own game, book a free call. If it isn't the right fit for you, you'll hear that on the call. No is a perfectly good answer.

Who I am

I got this wrong for years before I got it right.

I chased the tour from the age of six with a philosophy that was brutally simple: go hard, go hard again, push until you collapse. Exhaustion felt like proof I'd done enough. What it actually produced was over-training, constant injury, and a young man who was fit on paper and gassed on court.

Everything I got wrong became what I now teach. That's the coaching I do today, on the tour and online: individual, sustainable, and built on the mind as much as the body.

Calm isn't a personality. It's trained.

It decides the handful of points that decide the match.

Before you go

Real victory isn't the trophy. It's playing like yourself.

You could play next season exactly like the last one. The same practice sessions that feel great. The same matches where it slips away. The same losses to players you know you're better than, and the same quiet question on the drive home. Nothing changes on its own.

Or you stop forcing someone else's technique and start trusting your own, and the tennis you play in practice becomes the tennis you play when it counts.

That's true whether you're chasing a ranking or you simply want to still love this sport at sixty.
